A new Chinese edition brings the book’s people-centred approach to agility to a wider community of leaders.

I am delighted to share that Agile by Choice: A Workbook for Leaders has now been published in Chinese by China Machine Press. When I wrote Agile by Choice, I started with a simple conviction: agility cannot merely be introduced as a method, process or organizational programme. It begins with the leader. Before leaders ask their organizations to become more agile, they need to examine how they lead, make decisions, use their own resources and create the conditions in which others can contribute. Moving from command and control towards people-centred management is therefore not simply an organizational change. It is a personal choice. The book combines 21 practical tools with 14 reflective nudges. It explores the five dimensions of leadership—People, Organization, Management, Work and Operations—and connects them with the Inner Game of awareness, choice, trust and focus of attention. Its purpose is to help leaders translate the intention to become more agile into everyday practice. |
Seeing these ideas presented in Chinese is both surprising and deeply rewarding. A translation does more than make a book accessible in another language. It allows its ideas to enter a different cultural and management context, where they can be interpreted, challenged and developed further.
